Apply to Become A  Host Family In Denver!

 

Directions:

 

All host families will need to email:

-- a picture of the house,

-- a picture of the room for the international student and

-- a picture of your household  members  to COhost@ConnectGreatInc.com for the students and their family to review  before a student is placed.

 

Please answer the following questions, after we review your application, we will conduct the telephone interview with you and your spouse or any other decision makers in your household you in the next 2 to 6 weeks!

 

Chinese  college  Students come from China to study in Denver. They stay in the host family for:

Short term -- 5 months to 1 year for language school before going to college

Long term -- 1 to 3 years, for college

 

The students are looking for host family to live with to know more about the American Culture and practice English. Good for families that are interested in the Chinese Culture.   The host family house need to be close to a bus line or Light Rail station.

 

We are specifically looking for host family within 20-minute commute one way by bus or light rail for the following locations, the shorter the commute the better:

 

South Federal Blvd. off Dartmouth

 

If your house is not near a bus line or Light Rail, we can still put you on a list for the students that has a car, or if you can arrange reliable car pool or pick up, we will also consider too. It may take a while for a student to take the driver license test and get a car, please be patient!

Is it feasible to walk to Light Rail or Bus Stop from your home? How many minutes?
Can you provide 3 good references once a student is interested in living in your home?
Can you provide the clean police statewide clearance report for anyone over 18 in your household once a student is interested in living in your home?
Do you understand that whether or not you can finally become a host family mainly depends on whether there is a student interested in the house location, environment, and accessibility to the schools the students intend to go, which is out of your control and the control of Connect Great?
Do you understand Connect Great is not responsible for your health or Safety while hosting a Connect Great Student?
Have you discussed becoming a host family with your spouse or significant others ?
Have you agreed with your family members on issues like gender or No of the students or available date ?
Does any of your household member gamble?
If yes, how often does your household member gamble?
Have your significant others agreed with you on all the information you fill out in this application?
Do you have wireless Internet connections in your house?
Can multiple computers get on line at the same time from your house?
What is your spouse or significant others routine time period at home to interact with the Host student?
What is your other household members routine time period at home to interact with the Host student?
If you work, what days are you off every week?
How often do you do grocery shopping every week?
What stores do you usually go to do grocery shopping?
Do you cook for yourself?
Are there any food you do not eat?
Can you take the students to do grocery shopping at least one week?
Can you shop at Asian Grocery store like H Mart or Pacific at least once a month(usually less expensive than many grocery stores)?
How many meals do you eat every day?
What is your regular breakfast , lunch, dinner time every day?
Can you provide 3 meals to the students every day?
Could you provide Airport pick Up for the students after they arrive?
Do you have a Van or a SUV?
Have you emailed a picture of your house, a picture of the room for the international student and a picture of your household members to COhost@ConnectGreatInc.com for the student’s family to review? Please do it before you say Yes!
How many referral host families could you recommend to us if we need more host families?
When is your home available to host the students?
If a students is assigned to live in your house, if for any reason you can not host the student, can you let us know at least 1 week ahead of time so we can make other arrangement?
Do you understand if you fail to let us know 1 week ahead of time, you may be removed from our host family candidate list?
If there are any changes in the availability or the available dates of your home, could you notify us by email or phone call?
